Budget cuts, smudget butts

First, I want to say that unfortunately, this is not a Freak Magnet Friday post. Ugh! So today I find out that our district is planning to lay-off all but FOUR counselors in the whole district next year. I am pretty sure that includes me in the layoffs. I have been at my school for five years now and I LOVE it! This is so depressing. The budget is so bad that it doesn't look good outside of the district either. Sigh... On the plus side? Let's see...

I still have a pulse.
I still have full use of all my limbs.
My house has not caught fire.
There have been no hurricanes or flooding to destroy the town I live in.
I can still tolerate lactose.
I am still hot for being almost forty (hee hee).
I am not allergic to red wine (Thank you, God!)

I don't want to count any more blessings in case I have inadvertently jinxed myself by mentioning all of the above. The next time I post it will hopefully include some good news!

Oh, I am so sorry! I hope that somehow you get spared.

Hey, and being hot is way more immportant than a school counseling job. Because you can always become a well paid escort.

I can't believe that they want to mess around with the counselors, who's gonna keep everyone sane? Anyways don't say it's gonna be you, just stay positive, how many counselors are there in total?

I'm so sorry! Four counselors for an entire district seems ridiculous. Isn't there some sort of union protection or tenure process?

Seriously...I would rather be unemployed than be allergic to red wine...which I am :( Unemployment doesn't last forever. Red Wine allergy does. (i think. Maybe not? Maybe you outgrow it!?!?)

Schools are scary now. Esp. here in CA. I'm sorry :(

OH MAN! That sucks. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're spared. Nothing lower on the budget totem pole in CA than education.

And remember, you're not in JAIL. That might possibly be worse. Although, if you were in jail you would have some alone time. (Hmmm, it makes a girl think, don't it?)
